T-21 anndn standby mode issue

After coming out of standby mode, (like re-opening the display lid) my PS/2 mouse arrow disappears and I have to re-boot to get the mouse back. I have installed the latest bios and all software and windoze updates from Lenovo's Software Installer.
Any suggestions?
