Post PICS and Description of Your Notebook Carrying Case ETC
Since I just bought a Thinkpad, I needed a bag and I bought this one after a bit of research: http://www.umates.com/uk/basicplus.asp
Now, I haven't really used it much yet (for obvious reasons) but I like the elastic sling system that protects your laptop very nicely. Read more about it here: http://www.umates.com/uk/workforce-info.asp (including a drop test)

I'll take some pictures of it later today or maybe first tomorrow and post them here.
UPDATE:
Here are the pictures I promised.

I didn't know about them, but I asked my brother and he had recently bought one of these and he was pretty happy with it so I ended up buying one too

wow, they have a really nice offer ! I regret that i didn't know about them when I was looking for my bag. Although I can't say I regret the seem to really put effort into designing their protection systems, they look solid. good choice.

To me, that looks like a professionally over-engineered product that should do an exceedingly great job of not only protecting your Thinkpad and keeping the insides organized and out of their respective ways, but also looking good conforming to the concept of an actual slimline laptop case. Also, is it just me or does that combo of leather/neoprene look very similar to many of the cases that IBM/Lenovo offer? Noted as such because it seems to go quite well with the overall look of a Thinkpad.

Lenovo Sling Bag
Lenovo Sling Bag recently purchased for $20 during Labor Day Sale. I love it. Very simple, well built and classy:

Well, I found something a lot more sturdy than my simple bag that I posted about a few months ago, but because of an unbelievable discount cost only a few dollars more ($10 Australian down from $80). It's a High Sierra Swerve in a few shades of grey, and looks very versatile (plus it has a heap of pockets
) Here's a web link - I'll post some pictures tomorrow when I get the chance and say a bit more about what I like about it

Just a few pics of my Hig Sierra bag to share

I haven't counted how many pockets and enclosures there are in this bag, but here are a few of them, including a cell phone pouch, spots for pens and a keyring hook

My T40 sitting nice and perfectly in the notebook pouch. It's designed to fit a 15", but there are velcro straps as you can see to make sure the fit is snug.

A nicely padded back, and on one of the straps is a convenient pouch for phone, music player or anything else of that smaller size

And finally, a shot of the front of the bag. I'm heading away for the weekend without my laptop, but am going to take the bag anyway to test it out. I still can't believe that it only cost me $10 Australian

Just picked this up last weekend. And no, I didn't pay anything near the list price - there is an Hartmann outlet nearby and not only was the price discounted significantly from list, but they were having an additional 40% off sale. It was one of those "You can't possibly say no" things.
It is very sweet, immediately became one of my favorite things. It even has a little slash pocket on the top that is just right for my cell phone.

Wow now that looks nice ! So how much did you pay ?
I mean the list proce is 575$ :O Did you get it under 200$? Is it possible to get hartmann products much cheaper, I'm now looking at there website and I see things I like

I've been hauling a Brenthaven 3610 toploader around for the last two years stuffed with approximately 30 lbs of thinkpad and gear.

It is one tough mutha' and has a detachable semi-hard case for the T42. It sheds dirt like crazy. I've never had to clean it and it is still clean.

Me touting the bag

Bag from all sides

Writing utensils, glasses, business cards

Schoolboks, digital camera, contacts, Renu liquid

Laptop, powerbrick, headphones, CAT5, WiFi, USB2.0 PC Cards

Booting, sometimes I boot it without taking it out on a bus to check schedule, etc...
Overall quite satisfied, I bus/bike daily, took it on a trip to turkey, walked arround for 2h with another bigger rucksack with clothes.
I like rucksack for convenience, although I'd also like leather Thinkpad executive carry case for business meeting and for dressy stuff.
T540p, T420s (soon to be T420ps
), X61t, T60p, T42p, A21p
I use a "olympia" messenger bag that i found for $20 at a local closeout shop. It works really well with the air cushions from my huge thinkpad nylon bag, and can hold tons of stuff. I'll probably give this one to my dad and get a new one for the T60 on its way soon.
What are ya'lls impressions of the lenovo messenger bag? i read the thread and can't remember seeing it.

My bag and gear:

I really like this case because of the amount of gear and documents you can carry in it, it was around a $100 with the roller device which I will never use. So far it has been extrememly durable, no signs of wear at all and it is dragged around every day with my R52 or T60 and all the gear (sans the guitar stuff) you see there. The strap has a slick and rough side so it won't slip off your shoulder when weighted down a lot.
Still use this one if I have to carry both computers with me:

No, actually both are IBM bags, one leather and the other the expandable bag that comes with the roller. The guitar is my baby a Fender strat tiger maple, a rare made in japan, I modified it with some SRV pickups, the pedal on the floor is a digitech RP 12 that I've used for years in clubs, very solid, I have a great collection of vintage tube amps also.
