Thinkpad 510cs problems
Hi,
Sometime last week I went to turn on my TP 510cs and nothing happend.
No lights nothing.Let it sit for awhile..... still nothing. So I find out it's not taking any power. Google turns up some "power boards" for the 510(monocrome version).
I order one from WWW.Memory4less.com. It came a few days ago.
I installed it and now atleast it's drawing power and the battery charge light
goes on sometimes.I'm really clueless as to why it's still not working.
Thanks

I'mmpretty sure there's a link in the FAQ where you can find most hardware maintenance manuals. If you can't find the correct document there, then I'd try Google searching.

I happened to have these on my computer...(a friend of mine had a 510 that I was messing with).
Anyways, the 510 is part of a collection (in volume 1), which I've mirrored.
http://btornado.no-ip.com/~btornado/doc ... tpvol1.pdf - you want this one.
I also had these as well:

Well this is what I get out of it :
Undetermined Problems
If you have not already done so, go to “Power Systems
Checkout” on page 262 and check the AC adapter and
battery voltages.
If the AC adapter and battery voltages are correct and the
problem remains, do the following.
1. Power-off the computer.
2. Remove or disconnect one of the following devices:
- Any external device or cable
- Any PCMCIA device
3. Power-on the computer.
4. If the symptom remains, repeat steps 1, 2, and 3 until
you find the failing adapter or device.
5. If the problem remains, replace the Power Card.(allready did that)
6. If this does not solve the problem, replace the system
board.
