matshita UJDA765 driver WOn't Detect

#1 Post by aznmikex215 » Thu Dec 15, 2005 10:23 pm

matshita UJDA765 driver WOn't Detect and i cannot burn.

I formatted my T43 and reinstalled all the windows updates and everything inside the software installer. Everything works fine EXCEPT THE CDRW/DVD.

Nero won't detect it as being writable. Under the drives properties, my defualt: Recording is enabled.

THe drive shows up in "My COmputer" as DVD/CD-RW but NERO is not detecting it or showing its write speed.

I cannot burn anything. ive tried 2 different CD burning software and the the CDRW does not appear on its list of drives to burn to.

Is there a MATSHITA or IBM driver? I dont think the Microsoft driver is working very well. I cannot find it on the Lenovo website.

HELP! THANKS!

Hmm, have you tried the software installer or the Driver matrix for your Model?

The Lenovo website doesnt have a driver listed for the Drive. All it has is the DLA update, which i downloade dbut it does not install saying it didnt find software to update.

The have a DOS driver for DOS users and win 3.1 but thats not what i need.

hmmm installed the "Lenovo Hardware" update form microsoft and nothing happened.

I did discover that i can write a CD using the windows CD wizard. But i still cannot get any of my Nero's to detect my drive. Maybe i need a newer version.

Mine died now too.

Says it cannot load the drivers in device manager.

No previous drivers to roll back to.

I don't even see the drivers in the software updater.

Tried removing and re-installing drivers and device in windows but it still comes up with the ! in the device manager.

I also did not see any drivers at all on the Lenovo site, how can that be?

Any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks,
Mark

Try this. Go to Start > Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager. Right click on everything under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers and uninstall. Now reboot. Go back into Device Manager. Both Primary IDE controller and Secondary IDE controller should be using DMA mode - or a version of it like Ultra DMA. You should not be using PIO mode.

Now see if optical drive works properly.

Got it fixed! You just gotta use Newer burning software. I originially tried with Nero 5.5, but i guess that is too old. Nero 7 Premium works great! THanks!

I attempted this and my computer got stuck in an endless Bluescreen of death reboot sequence.

I just reloaded to the "last known good settings". and everyhting was fine. But if your drive isnt detecting, just try a newer version of your burning software. Nero 7 works fine with this drive.
