Need help imaging/cloning new hard drive for R50

#1 Post by bobbypierce » Sun Dec 18, 2005 10:27 pm

I have an R50 with a TravelStar 20GB hard drive that is almost full. I just bought a Samsung 80GB 5,400rpm drive and have had problems cloning my existing hd to the new one that I have positioned in a usb 2.0 enclosure. I have used both Ghost 9 and Acronis True Image 9 and while the imaging process goes smoothly, when i move the new hard drive from the enclosure to the R50, the new drive cannot see the operating system.

My company builds a 'standard' image for the field which consists of 4 partitions. The first two are hidden partitions (8mb each) partition 3, which shows up as C: is 8GB and 4 which shows up as D: is roughly 14GB.

I have ensured that my MBR is selected for the C: drive. I keep striking out!
