Sounds like a nice machine.

The optical drive is a "plug in module" that you can remove from the ultrabay which is a big slot on the right side of the laptop. You can get additional plug in adapters which enable you to put other devices in the ultrabay inplace of the optical drive, such as a second hard drive or an extra battery.

Very impressive System :D

My Model (2668-72U) is quite similar; I have to say, I am very happy with it. :)

I actually got the MultiBurner (CDRW/DVDRW); but that can be swapped in and out later via the Slim Ulttrabay. In fact, I just finished calibrating a second slim battery. :)

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Thanks for the quick responses

I am very much looking forward to receiving and using this unit

Estimated ship date is 12/26 for main unit and 01/06 for free 512 RAM

maybe I'll receive my new baby by the new year.

:D

I'll also probably be full of questions at that time so please bear with me.

You got a sweet deal. Is that price with some kind of discount? Becuase I dont think it can be that price regularly.

My T43 2686E7U
is similar but i have these differences:
1.86 ghz processor
1.5 gig ram
80 gig HD but 7200 RPM
Intel Pro Wireless 2200 B/G
No bluetooth
9 cell battery
XP HOME

I paid about $1,6xx.00 and thats with a discount of nearly $400 bucks. are those differences equal to yours but you having the advantage of 2.0 ghz processor, bluetooth, and A/B/G wireless?

I got the 60gig and paid 16xx, with a 5% discount. I'm jealous.
