Heya I got a Laptop through school A Thinkpad i series 1300 type 1171 13u and I am haveing some hardware and Os problems. I went to the IBM site and went to download the updates and what not and the new bios patch well I let the site detect my comp and all the info it dectected was right and it gave me list but when i go to install the bios patch I get a error telling me its not working. And when I installed their auto update software I get a error after i run it saying this software is only for IBM computers. I dun know whats going on but I want to have the functionality of my computer that it had when it was purchased. I tryed a fresh install of win xp pro and it works I just dun have some functionality like the thinkpad button dun work and my built in lan card shows up on the device manager but only wy wireless connection actually apears in my available conection folder any help or links would be helpful I would even be happy with a link to buy a cd with the software I need on it to get my laptop to work

Try looking here, might want to look again at your model number as the last three don't come up with a series number that only the downloads specfic are for. If I remember right when you power on you hit F12 and it goes to a boot for you Bios change? good luck[/url]
