Question about Speedstep on a T30

#1 Post by the.vert » Mon Jul 12, 2004 10:05 am

I know it doesn't matter much what the model of my laptop is but it is a T30. I am currently using WinXP Pro SP1 and have no recovery CDs (I bought the laptop second hand).

I am using SpeedswithXP V1.4 I have it set to be max performance when on AC power but the speed is showing at 1.19 Ghz when the top speed is 1.8Ghz and it will bounce between 1.19 and 1.8. it's kind of irritating me as when I am docked I want it to be full speed.

Any ideas?

Have you tried using IBM's Battery MaxiMiser and Power Management Features (you also need to install ThinkPad Configuration Utility)?

Also make sure your BIOS, Embedded Controller Program (you need too install ECP first then the BIOS update) and ACPI Power Management are updated. The BIOS update usually solves many power management related issues.
