Audio stereo line in on an R51?

My R51 (1836-h7u) has headphone and microphone jacks on the left side, but no line in. There's no super-secret way of configuring the mic jack to act as line in, is there? Or am I stuck with an external attenuator or something? And, it's mono anyway, isn't it?
