Debian/Linux/Ubuntu compatibility with Yonah on T4x?

#1 Post by hydrostarr » Sat Dec 24, 2005 1:13 pm

Assuming I can get my Thinkpad T41 to work with Yonah (the Intel-Core chip slated for 1/2006 release):

...might Ubuntu (loaded on this machine) be compatible as well?

I'll be cross-posting and referencing a thread on http://www.ubuntuforums.org/ shortly.

I'm sorry to say, but Yonah will not be pin compatible with Dothan or Banias. Intel doesn't want us to use it in "old" laptops.
