3com xjack wireless adapter
Can someone tell me if the 3com wireless a/b/g nic card that has the antennae that retracts has its own wireless configuration utility or does it use windows wireless configuration utility built into xp. - Marvin
It has its own. Works great, BTW.

Thank-you this was the answer that I was looking for. Windows wireless utility seems to slow my system down. Disabling it lets it startup faster, this is why I'm looking at the 3com. I'm currently using a netgear card and it also is pretty good and come with it's own wireless utility but I am tired of the protruding antennae out of the pcmcia slot.

It uses its own, but their utility is pretty memory & CPU intensive, but its pretty useful. Its like the Access Connections software, but a little easier to use. You can use the XP Zero Wireless Configuration if you'd want, but there's no profile switching ability like the software has.
I had the 3CRPAG175...I'm not sure if they made a new one. Great invention though. I had worn out the PCMCIA slot in my old Thinkpad because I was inserting and removing the card so often, to the point where I had to start using the other slot because it wouldn't recognize the card.
