T23 virus problem

Hi. I'd be grateful for any advice on this virus problem.

My T23 motherboard got fried by a virus. Since then, I've replaced the motherboard and scanned the computer it several times with Grisoft AVG. I've also run Ad-Aware and Sbybot S&D. They all show that the laptop is clean now.

However, I still have strange behavior, especially when chosing a desktop image. The Earthlink spyware checker says I have "Spy #e177c -- Research In Progress," but it doesn't explain how to remove it.

Does anyone have any advice?

If you have high speed internet, you could run an online scan of TrendMicro's House Call:
http://www.trendmicro.com/hc_intro/default.asp

Have you tried running your antivirus and spyware detection software in SafeMode? HouseCall will also work in safe mode, though it is harder to navigate because of the safe mode resolution.
