#1 Post by nrvana8775 » Wed Dec 28, 2005 12:36 am

I am looking at replacing the old one with a oem ultrabay, but don't want another one to crap out on me. Looking to spend under $60 used for it, i have heard about some lg's, but i don't know the model.

I am not aware of any.

It is possible with the Ultrabay 2000 to replace it with a much better OEM drive, but not the Ultrabay slim og er UB enhanced.

I may end up with an external cdrw/dvdrw because realistically, I am not going to need to burn something on the road, and I hardly take my laptop outside of my apartment.

Since the newer burners have a "lightscribe" technology that allows printing right on (specially prepared) discs, you'll get more bang for your buck with an external.
