Thinkpad Battery MaxiMiser: Automatic setting selection?

#1 Post by AdamaDBrown » Thu Dec 29, 2005 11:37 am

I recently had to reinstall Windows XP (long, painful story).

In an ideal world, I'd like for Battery MaxiMiser to automatically switch to high system performance whenever I plug in my computer, then to super power saver when I unplug. I thought that it did this prior to the OS issue, though I suppose I could be wrong.

Unfortunately, after being reinstalled, Battery MaxiMiser definitely doesn't do this anymore. I don't know what's wrong, as I grabbed the current version off IBM's site, and I can't see any obvious option to make it do this. Anyone have a clue/suggestion? Or was I simply hallucinating before?

Battery Maximizer requires several other IBM software packages. Check the Battery Maximizer readme file for details. Readme file is available on download site for Battery Maximizer.

I've looked, but there's no other recommended packages, and I see nothing about this particular issue. My problem persists.

From the IBM Page http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-44226
III. Installation instructions
Notes:

If you have ThinkPad Configuration version 1.31 or earlier installed, uninstall it first and reboot before installing this package. Then install the following packages

ThinkPad 5xx/i-1157 :
ThinkPad Configuration package

ThinkPad 6xx/7xx :
ThinkPad Configuration package
ThinkPad Personalization Editor

Other ThinkPad machines:
ThinkPad Configuration package
ThinkPad Presentation Director
ThinkPad EasyEject Utility (Win2000/XP)
