Windows XP SP2

#1 Post by jdhurst » Mon Jul 12, 2004 10:06 pm

I had to start again, recover the T41, reinstall Windows. Then install Client Security. Then install SP2. Now the IBM Support download works - has to be done twice every time as one person noted. But Windows update continues to fail. SP2 still has miles to go before it will be ready for production. I see Microsoft has delayed it again with no firm date in sight.

Tried again. Worst piece of junk Microsoft has ever produced. Does not even qualify to be a pre-alpha piece of software. No wonder it has been indefinitely delayed. I am prepared to bet I am not the only one fillling out bug reports of failure.

To be fair, I'm running SP2 RC2 with no problems on my desktop. I haven't tried it on my X31, but that's because I don't need the latest and greatest on my work machine. I'm sure that MS will get it right by the time they roll out SP2 final.

I dearly hope so. I like XP Pro a lot, and with SP1 and all the patches it is working great. I hope they fix SP2 as well.
