Travelstar 7200 rpm drives - do they ever go on sale?

#1 Post by rfcroc » Fri Dec 30, 2005 10:23 pm

Looking for a replacement for my T30 and I'm looking at either a 7K60 or 7K100. Anyone seen anything worth reporting?

Thanks in advance :)

Which country are you in?

In Hong Kong, the Travelstar 7K60 basically price remains unchanged (down about 3-5%), and the 7K100 price remains way above the MSRP price due to shortage over here.

BTW, Seagate did say that they will be introducing a 5K160 Momentus in first half 2006, then followed by a 7K160 in 2006...

I'm in the USA.
I like Seagate's offerings but:
a) I'm not waiting til mid-2006 and
b) I'd prefer to buy something that's been out there a while
