SATA or PATA 7K100 in a T43?

#1 Post by firefly » Sun Jan 01, 2006 12:36 am

I'm thinking of upgrading to the 7k100 100G as I need more space and the 60GB just won't do it for me.

Question is which one does the T43 support? I know the 60G that came with the system is a PATA drive. But I've been reading about this SATA -> PATA conversion chip in the T43 (which relates to the 2010 error). So does that mean the T43 supports a SATA drive natually...but Lenovo was trying to cheap out and put in a PATA drive?
T43 (2668-HH5): 1.86GHz/1024MB, 14.1"SXGA+, DVD-CDRW Combo, 60GB, 9-cell.

On the T43 you need the PATA version of the 7K100.

Cheers,
Rob.

Can you guys recommend a good place to buy a hard drive for a T43? May be post a link of the particular product? I was told that only hard drives bought from the IBM site would work on T43s...
Gracias…
