Thinkpad T42 with 2nd HDD Adapter and XP SP2

Hello all,

I am considering getting the 2nd HDD Adapter for my Thinkpad T42:

From what I've found on this forum, it seems to be possible to boot off of the drive in the HDD Adapter.

However, the drive that I would like to put into the bay has Windows XP SP2, and some threads seem to suggest that attempting to boot off of the drive from the bay could hose the drive.

Does anyone have more definitive information as to whether or not this will happen?
