T4x Touchpad tracking speed

#1 Post by dbrunone » Mon Jan 02, 2006 11:36 am

Hey everybody, I recently bought a refurb T41p, and I love it so far. My only gripe is that there seems to be no option anywhere in the IBM software to change the tracking speed of the touchpad. Right now it is wayyy too slow, to the point where I need to lift my finger nearly 3 or 4 times to get the pointer all the way across the screen. They have tons of other settings for the touchpad, but not that one. Anyone know of any way I can fix this? Thanks in advance.

There is no "pointer options" tab in the mouse properties dialog box. There is Pointers, Buttons, Devices, and UltraNav. None of those tabs have the option to change pointer speed. Plus, I only want to change the speed of the touchpad, NOT the speed of the trackpoint or an external mouse. If I go to "touchpad properties" in the UntraNav tab, I have the options of (under the pointer motion category) EdgeMotion Region, EdgeMotion Speed, Constrained Motion, Slow Motion, and Sticky Borders....again, no option to change just the mouse speed.

I was assuming that you had XP. Sorry. You can adjust the sensitivity in the Ulrta Nav Driver, located in the mouse properties (at least it is on mine).

Alternative: UltraNav Wizard. Configue anything and everything about the TrackPoint and Touchpad. ,:)

Yeah I have XP Pro that came with the machine....

Thanks for the Ultranav wizard suggestion....that had a speed setting that affected both pointing devices, then I just slowed down the trackpoint. Thanks a bunch
