Out of Warranty Repair Questions/Options/Help

#1 Post by lgchristianson » Mon Jan 02, 2006 12:16 pm

Hi All,
Have determined my T30 has a system board issue and most likely needs a replacement. Other than keeping an eye out on eBay for a suitable fit or sending in to Lenovo for repair (my least friendy option), does anyone know of a reasonably priced alternative? I really liked this T30 but I find complete used systems going on eBay for less than the cost of repair on this one.
JUST out of warranty

Comments, suggestions,
Thanks,
LC

*IF* the problem is that your T30 will not recognize all installed memory, IBM/Lenovo will likely repair it at no cost. Search the site for earlier discussion of this issue.

Thanks for the reply but it appears to most likely be a cold solder joint, damaged trace or pc board. I pretty much eliminated all the easy stuff already (I hope anyway).
