Put an X40 drive into an X41 Tablet?

#1 Post by EricAlderman » Mon Jan 02, 2006 2:31 pm

I've been using an X40 with an upgraded 60GB drive for a while, but am getting a new X41 Tablet this week (18666HU). Is there any chance I can put my X40 drive into the X41 and then somehow upgrade it to Windows XP Tablet Edition? I have all the MS software, so that's not a problem. I just really don't want to start over installing all my software (and did not have much luck with Desktop DNA last time I tried it).

Thanks,

Eric

No can do. The X41 Tablet uses a different size HDD: a 1.8-inch ATA drive. The X40's HDD would be too thick and too long, I believe. Believe me, if there was a way, I would do it, as I've not been happy with the performance of the 1.8-inch drive at all.
