Sony BX's keyboard is a big disappointment...

#1 Post by tom2517 » Wed Jan 04, 2006 4:12 am

Sony BX's spec. looks pretty good to me when it was announced. I really liked the fact it has a good GPU compare to T43p, which really is far too slow compare to Dell or HP's workstation.

And like someone said before, if it has a good keyboard, it might be a good competition to TP because of Sony's reliability.

Well, I finally had a chance to try it in Japan, and the keyboard is terrible. Sure, it's full sized, but very flexy. I was really disappointed at Sony, I mean, they are aiming at the business market and I would think they look at this issue, or maybe nowadays only people on this forum cares about keyboards.....

p.s. Strangely though, I also tried some of their other models, and the keyboards wasn't as flexy as the BX's. I guess Sony really didn't factor in the keyboards when they design the BX.

I can vouch for that as well. I went to the local office depot and saw the Sony AX model which is the same as the BX and the keyboard had a lot of flex. I thought maybe it was just that one laptop but after checking the Sony laptops at two different BestBuy locations, pretty much all the Sony laptops had the KB flex, especially the AX series.

sony's reliability?? they are good for electronics but not computers. my cousin owns one and she has problems with it all the time. though it may not be the majority, i don't think they are very popular.
