R52 - About dual channel and Crucial RAM

#1 Post by gbor » Sat Jan 07, 2006 10:01 am

Hi there,
Since this is my first post, I must say this is a very useful forum! ;)
To introduce myself, I have R52, 1846, in case anyone needs sth. 8)

Here's my questions:
1) Does R52 support DUAL CHANNEL mode for RAM or not?
I just can't find the info. On Lenovo page there's only a note about "dual data rate".

2) Anyone has any experience with CT466128, a RAM from Crucial?
It is supposed to fit "all" R52, which is what worries me. More interesting, Google returns 0 results for it.

3) Would you suggest this CT466128 (Crucial) or KTM-TP3840/1G (Kingston)?

Thanks in advance!
Happy weekend to everybody.
Greg

All R52s take the same RAM. The Crucial model is correct.

Since the r52 is 915-chipset based it is supposed to support dual-channel. No personal experience though.

I'd buy Kingston, their tech support is fantastic.
