When I run a 2.6.12.x or older kernel, my screen works great. I can also close the lid, then open the lid, no problem.
However, since the advent of kernels 2.6.13-2.6.15, if I close the lid, then open it, the display comes back, then a second later, it flashes again (does not flash on older kernels), then the display is shifted down 1/2 inch (and the top half inch is just random dots and paterns. If I go to a console, then back to X, the display is back to normal. This problem only occurs when in X, using the lid switch on a console causes no problems.
I've recompiled various versions of 2.6.13->2.6.15 kernels with different config files. I've even taken the config file from my working 2.6.12.5 kernel, but nothing seems to correct this issue.
I'm running debian sarge on an R51 with the intel 855GM integrated graphics. I also have a friend with a similar R51 who is getting the same issue runing Gentoo.
Any ideas on what could be causing this or solutions to fix it?
