T42p USB2.0 self pwr to external HDD
T42p USB2.0 self pwr to external HDD
I put a Hitachi 7k60 into an external USB 2.0 enclosure which gets power from the USB2.0 port. It is recognized by my T42p and my desktop as a USB 2.0 HDD. However, transfers to and from the 7k60 are much faster with the desktop than with the t42p even when the t42p is running on AC. Results are the same whether I plug the cord into the top or bottom USB2.0 outlet. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Might something be wrong with the USB port on my T42p? How does one test?
