Battery Choices for the X40

I am about to order my X40, but I need to decide on the battery choice. What would you recommend? In particular, what is your experience with the 4-cell, 8-cell, and extended life batteries?

Does the 8-cell add much additional weight over the 4-cell? How much real world additional time do you get with the 8-cell (surfing and checking mail)? How about with the extended life?

Is it worth getting a 4-cell in addition to the 8-cell?

I just received an X40 with the 8-cell. I'm still kind of conditioning it (I think). I haven't formally clocked the battery life, but by my estimates I can usually get about 4.5-5 hours - depends if I have my screen bright and my external HDD attached (it varies).

The 8-cell does add weight. To be honest, I would've been fine with the 4-cell because my truly 'portable' computing needs are rather minimal. That being said, I certainly can't say that the X40 with the 8-cell is 'immobile'.

I got the X40 with only the 8-cell. I find battery life to be the same as b[]DavidNZ's[/b], getting about 5 hours on a full charge. Personally, I think this is a bit low for me, and there's no way I could use the 4-cell. I find that the extra bit sticking out makes a nifty handle and serves to help balance the laptop and keep it from rocking back. And it all fits in a Waterfield size 3.
