A22m Won't Boot With Battery Installed While On AC Power

I have an A22m(2628-WSU) that runs perfectly while on AC power without a battery, runs perfectly on battery power without the AC adapter, but will not boot with both the AC plugged in and the battery installed. I have tried 4 different batteries that are known to work perfectly in other machines. Any ideas? Thank you.
