T40p slim ultrabay cover

#1 Post by yukit » Wed Jul 14, 2004 3:31 am

Since I rarely use the CD-ROM drive on my T40, I have been think about removing the drive to save some weight & power.

Anyone know the part number for the cover/blank to fill in the empty bay?

I was also think about getting the 2nd HDD Adapter for Ultrabay (62P4554), & use the adapter without the hard drive inside. Anyone tried this?

Thanks,

yuki

with that price, get yourself a HDD adapter.

my hp nc6000 comes with its own bezel, same with the compaq evo n600c. IBM laptops don't come with one? (still waiting for arrival of my T40p)

Here's one more option:

I bought myself a 2nd battery to fill that ultrabay. I don't mind the weight if I can use the thinkpad longer.

Yeah, I've always wanted that polymer battery too. But i don't know if I should invest in one now that I've gone with the T40p model. Having the 9 cell and the ultrabay battery would turn my 'thin-and-light' to 'protruding-and-heavy' :-)

How much did you get yours for iyusaf? IBM sells it for $120 (with purchase of laptop). A guy on eBay sells for $110.
