Will a SATA HDD work in a T41?

Hi, I think I just boobed - bought a Hitachi 60GB 5400rpm HDD off ebay, but just noticed it is SATA and not PATA! Not being a tech person, all I can work out is 'S' = serial, and 'P' = parallel. Will this drive work in my T41 (somehow I think not!).

No. (at least not in the internal caddy/tray).

Ah, that's what I feared! I've a usb caddie with a 20GB Hitachi HDD I use for keeping my digital photos on, I wonder if it would work in that? But I was planning on using my old 40GB for that and having my new 60GB installed on the T41. Such is life!

schouldnt be any problem for you to exchange that drive for a 60gig pata. Is it brand new?

Yes, it's brand new, but the bag has been opened and the drive taken out. Also, I'm buying it off ebay from a guy who obviously made the same mistake as me (just said he was selling it as it was the wrong type for his laptop). So I'll probably have to stick it back on ebay (UK). But there are not many bidders for these SATA drives.

Anyway, I should have been more cautious as it is Friday the 13th!
