Memory (RAM) Compatibility on R50 (1831)???

#1 Post by bobbypierce » Sat Jan 14, 2006 10:50 am

I have a Thinkpad R50 (1831) and want upgrade the ram to 2GB.

I am curious about compatibility. While i know the specs for the motherboard state DDR PC2700, I am curious if the ram below will operate fine because of the low price i can get it for ($64/1gb)

gigaram 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 400 (PC2 3200) Notebook Memory

Can anyone provide any comments on this?

Thanks,

bp

It will not. It is DDR2 or DDRII, a newer version of ddr.

You need DDR 1.

Look for a description that contains DDR 333mhz PC2700.
