What is ReadiSafe?
What is ReadiSafe?
I just found the option to enable ReadiSafe in the BIOS of my T42. It is off by default. Does anyone know what this does (beyond the one-liner help in the BIOS which doesn't tell me much)?
Thanks!

The word is REDISAFE and typing this into the search bar on the IBM site came up with the following

If you enable Redisafe, windows will start building the hibernation file before it goes into hibernation, so going into hibernation will take much less time.

Re: What is ReadiSafe?
I've enabled Redisafe from the BIOS, but it still takes Windows the same amount of time to do either suspend or hibernation as before.
I thought it just works for suspend mode... hibernation would be the same..but AFTER it goes into suspend mode (taking the same time as always), it will write everything to the hibernation file in case of power loss.... when you come out of suspend mode normally (i.e. you never lost power), coming out will take the same time as no redisafe..BUT if you lost power, it will restore your session the same as coming out of hibernation... so, it's like suspend with hibernation backup.....
