Thinkpad t40 issues

My soundcard always gives out an audible gurgle or burp before it plays any sound (mp3 or any sound file). Besides that the audio is fine. It's very annoying however.

Also whatever I do (access connex, fn f5) i cannot seem to turn off my wireless card.

Anyone have any clue/suggestions?

1. As per the speakers on my T40p, I don't use them that much, so I can't say I've heard what you mention...

2. As per the Fn - F5 and the application that pops up not turning off the wireless, someone around the forum said that is due to a bug in the new IBM driver for the wireless card. If you were to go go back to an older driver, that functionality would work again. I can't remember which version.

I have the same issue, since I have the newer driver - So I just turn it off from the icon in the task bar...The bluetooth on/off button does work, though...

I can now turn off my wireless card after I rolled back the driver.

I don't think the sound problem is with my speakers cuz it comes out through the line out as well. It's this gurgle right before any sound is played. Anyone?

I believe there is a conversation about this already going on, the theory is that it's electronic noise from the video chipset.
