Working suspend configurations with T2x series?

#1 Post by nmuntz » Sun Jan 15, 2006 2:50 pm

I have a T21 that i've been trying to get suspend working on for over a year.

Using ACPI, the machine suspends but never wakes up. I've given up using ACPI and I'm looking at using APM which gives me a semi working configuration.

Basically I get the same results no matter what distro and kernel I use. Recently, I've been using Ubuntu. I'm left with 2 problems, sound and pcmcia.

Sound:
When waking out of suspend, I have to rmmod the cs46xx module and the modprobe it. This isn't a huge deal, but it requires restarting alsa and any sound daemons.

PCMCIA:
If there is a card in the slot, I can't suspend. Stopping the pcmcia service sometimes does it.

I'd be interesting in knowing what configurations people have that work for T2x machines. I've gone through the bios enabling and disabling things that may affect suspending but I'm pretty close to just giving up and finding a different laptop.

You can probably fix both of these problems by fixing your DSDT and not using the framebuffer console drivers in the kernel.
