Lenovo TV Rescue and Recovery problems at boot up.

#1 Post by gwood » Thu Jan 19, 2006 3:30 am

How should I deal with the boot screen for CLient Security Solution ?

I installed ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery on my X40 and now on boot up I get a screen Rescue And Recovery that asks for my Windows Password.
I never used passwords before and dont know how to deal with it now.

I can click on X, or OK or enter nothing as a password and the window changes to show Client Security Solution with a silly picture of a moving red ball and my Zone alarm alerts that cssauth.exe is trying to access the web.
The Client Security Solution will not go away until I use Ctol-Alt-Del to end the task manually.

All help gratefully recieved.

why do you use rescue and recovery?! it takes you at least 1hr to recover your saved image!

use either norton ghost (myself i loved the 2003 version) or acronis (this is what i use now). acronis has the advantage that you can activate a bootup manager, which will alwas appear for 2 sec asking you to press F11 if you want to start a recovery process (this was the only BIG minus of Ghost)

about client security, are you sure you deactivated UMV? is in it's option somewhere. and be sure in window's user panel, change the way user log in you have all of them deactivated.

hope it helped abit
