From Samsung USA FAQ: How Do I Safely Clean My LCD Monitor?
One note, they mention the use of Petroleum Benzine as one option. This is not a safe chemical to be exposed to. AFAIK, consumers cannot even purchase it in the US.

Everything from 100% to 70% isopropyl/ethanol can slowly, over time, react with the polymers on the LCD surface (A slow esterization process I think, but that depends on the material that the LCD is made of). Eventually, it will get yellow and brittle; I have seen it happen to a few older LCD Monitors.

Before you go to the alchohol, start safe and dampen a soft paper towel and see what that does. Do not dampen to the point that water runs down the screen just lightly dampen a cloth.
If that does not work, a small amount or alchohol might be in order.
Tell you frinds to keep their grubby fingers off your screen!

http://www.klearscreen.com/ is according to me one of the most expensive ones out there tat specialize in LCD screen cleaning solutions. I have their product and I have found it to be great on the LCD, palm rest and the buttons of the thinkpad T43. My hand sweat a lot at time and the sweat leaves a distinct mark on my palm rest, but their solution helped a lot and now no more markings, its really awesome.
the only catch is that, it does not seam to be very effective on the LCD covers. I prefer to clean the LCD cover with plain water, but the clot that come along with their package is great and will guarentee a scratch-free cleaning.

Yeah, that's probably better than the soft cotton that I recommended above. The ideal wipe is soft and lint-free. As far as the solution goes, that's probably OK, but you should check the ingredients because (I think) eyeglasses are made from a different type of plastic (or glass).aamsel wrote:I use a microfibre cloth and spray eyeglass cleaning solution purchased at an optician's office.
