Walhalla, SC ???

#1 Post by ilrudy » Thu Jul 15, 2004 9:26 am

So my T42p shipped yesterday:

4:36 P.M. KOWLOON BAY, HK PICKUP SCAN

in a shipment with 115 other packages.

The destination of all the packages is Walhalla, SC but I'm in BOSTON! Is Walhalla some sort of standard destination or is something being weird? When can I expect to receive my new baby?

I ordered this through my school so is it possible all school orders are being routed through some sort of warehouse?

You must have ordered the rock-n-roll edition, they all ship through Walhalla.

Seriosly, though, there is no rhyme or reason as to where they ship first when they leave HK. Without customs delays (unpredictable), you'll have it within 2 days.

It is a international shipment that comes grouped with many other units from IBM. Once the units pass customs they will split up into individual shipments. My experience in the past is that the final shipment location will not change to your city. The unit will usually show up the day after it is released from cutoms/FDA. Both times when I called UPS international they could not give the exact shipment final location until after the first delivery attempt was made.

Don't worry, that hold will take 1 to 3 days only.
X220t IPS but but a bit unhappy with it
T60p 2007-93U 1600x1200 IPS (T42p is an overall better machine though. Lack of new IPS Thinkpads keeps me buying these older models!)
T42p 2373-KXU 1600x1200 IPS (The best ever!!)
A20p 2629-6UU 1400x1050 (My first Thinkpad!)
