That card is compatible with your machine and your machine is "wireless upgradeable" so it should work. Did you connect the antennas properly, white to "main", black to "aux?" Be sure to read the installation instructions for the driver, I think you have to uninstall the previous driver 1st. Did you update the Embedded Controller Program when you updated the BIOS? The two go hand-in-hand. You may have to reinstall Access Connections. Be sure to read the installations instructions for that also.

My 2200 FRU is 93P3483. Is your card an actual 2200 wireless card?

Try reseating the card. Better yet, try another wireless card. Perhaps your X40 has a defective wireless card slot?

Good luck.

CODE 10

If the device has a "FailReasonString" value in its hardware key, that string is displayed as the error message. The driver or enumerator places this registry string value there. If there is no "FailReasonString" in the hardware key, the following generic error message is displayed:
This device is either not present, not working properly, or does not have
all the drivers installed. (Code 10)

Try upgrading the device drivers for this device.

Solution button: Update Driver

To resolve this error code, make sure the device is connected to the computer correctly. For example, make sure all cables are plugged in fully and that all adapter cards are properly seated. Follow the suggested solution button and update the device driver. It may be possible to remove the device and redetect it using the Add New Hardware wizard.

although you got the drivers from ibm website, the wcard isn't loading up right. i have no idea what. put the card back into the T and see if it still works, you might have damaged it during the exchange. if it is not the case, then try a different wireless pci card that you know would work in a x40 to test and see if the wcard slot is messed up.

Hope your X40 is under warranty - sounds like a hardware issue.

Good luck!
