r50e celeron fan operation

my r50e runs the fan very freqeuntly, it goes on every 5-7 min for about 2-3 min each time.

is this normal?
the fan runs even if the cpu temp is very low (29c)
r50e celeron owners please reply if the same happens with your thinkpads.

can anyone with a r50e celeron tel what is the normal cpu temp?
by normal i mean no heavy duty programs, just word and explorer

im trying to figure out wheather my unit is malfunction or not..

It's normal. That's the way my laptop was until I popped a Pentium M in then undervolted.

Go pick up a 1.5 or 1.6 for ~$80ish
