iPods - Which side are you on? classic white or piano black?

#1 Post by K. Eng » Mon Jan 23, 2006 9:46 pm

Just thought I'd spoof the Lenovo "which side are you on?" site... So far of people I know personally piano black leads 3 to 2!

I realize there are some people who miss the multiple fun flavors of the iPod mini... but I am mainly interested in what people think of today's iPods :D

In addition to casting my vote, I want to tell all what I have for an iPod.. I have a gen. 3. 15GB scratched to HELL.. I am going to buy a new face for it and I am going to see about painting mine black.. completely black with red lights in the buttons.. Need a new face though..

I must say the iPod design is pretty slick and does have some looks.. But I've always been one for black electronics.. ThinkPads, Razr, etc..

Looks like piano black has an overwhelming lead...

I have used Brasso to remove scratches, I used the liquid with a very soft cloth and allot of elbow grease with multiple applications, never use paper products as that will reaally scratch them up, best thing is to use a case as much as you can. They have skins which fit very tight and might work out better then painting.
If it doesn't get better, it will get over.

i tried one of those rubbery skins..
hard to get on..
returned it..
kept the little leather case..
flip open front.. works very well..

and for those of you who are looking for something to restore your thinkpad painted surface, try meguiar's Natural Shine Vinyl & Rubber Protectant..

try it on the bottom first to be sure it will work for you.. :-)
