#1 Post by gv_dhina » Wed Jan 25, 2006 7:37 am

Hi,

I am using ThinkPad R40 (Type-2682)- P4-2 GHz, 512MB, 25GB HDD, ATI RADEON 7500 AGP. My problem is I can't setup display resulation more then 1024x768. Is there anyway to increse my resulation? Guys please help me.

Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure that 1024 x 768 is the max resolution for the R40 screen

Same on my R40. 1024x768 appears to be the highest resolution. Its hard going from a 1280x1024 screen to a 1024x768.. everything looks sooo big

There were R40 models that supported 1400x1050 (SXGA+), but it's the limitation of your specific panel that matters. I am not aware of any R40's that had a resolution of 1280x1024 (SXGA), which is what I use on my desktop as well. My R40 is limited to 1024x768 (XGA) as well. If you have an XGA panel, you can't increase the resolution beyong 1024x768.

Sorry!

Would one be able to swap out a XGA unit for a SXGA+ unit with out swapping anything else (i.e. video card)?
