bios update without a battery?

#1 Post by cedrik » Fri Jul 16, 2004 2:00 pm

Ok, I have now realized that in order to get the sound to work in XP I definitely need a BIOS update as the BIOS in my 770X dates back to 1998. I have also found out, reading this forum, that I need a fully charged battery to make the update. But what if I have only the AC adapter and no battery at all? It won`t work then, right? I don`t want to take a risk making a batteryless bios update, as proposed two topics below.I would still like to update to the latest version, with support for Windows XP although I do not have a floppy drive either.

Could always post you're general area and hope someone is nice enough, and lives close enough, and has what you need, to help you out....

I live near Kingston Ontario,Canada......are you near there????...

I only have the battery and DVD in my system, and I use it quite regularly,or i'd offer to ship to you to use for the 2 min you need....

Sorry...

Later...
