Essential Accessories/Software

What are some essential accessories for the t42p or laptops in general? Same with software to ensure things like security and smooth running. Thanks.

Some do not like it but Norton has kept me out of harms way on several occasions. Its a must for me.

If you need MS Office, try to find Office 2000. I have used it for years and hate the new MS Office. I little too intrusive for me.

WinZip, Firefox, Ad-Aware, SpyBot, ZoneAlarm 4.5,

Edited to add SpywareBlaster, ... probably the most useful of all if you are using IE.

- I say spambayes, if you use Outlook for email.
- I don't like norton, so I use AVG - http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php - It's very good. I had a virus at one point neither Norton, nor McAfee could clean it up. AVG did...
