Lessening wear on my Ultrabay

#1 Post by davedave » Sun Jan 29, 2006 1:12 am

I have a 3yr old 6cell battery and a brand new Ultrabay. I understand the ultrabay discharges first, I want to maximize the lifespan of this battery as long as possible considering my other is on he way out anyway. Should I just pop it out at 20% to reduce wear or is there a setting just for that battery? Any ideas?

I'm getting 50% more cycles on my new Ultrabay Slim battery than the 6-cell that came at the same time wth my TP.

My practice ... I don't use it all the time. I pop in the DVD drive from time to time, particularly when I'm just using it on battery at home. The extra battery's handy for long-haul work when I need the longevity ... but I don't leave it in 99% of the time like I'd anticipated when I ordered the whole kit. Hope that helps you.
