Hi everyone,
I am a first-time PC owner who needed to make the switch from Macs to PCs when I started law school in the fall. This forum was incredibly helpful as I set about making my decision, and I absolutely love my X41 computer (all of my fellow students with back problem from lugging around their heavy Dells and are very jealous of this little guy!)
I have two questions about my computer that I was hoping someone might have come across.
1. The computer makes a constant "crunching" noise. It's quite loud and sounds unnatural. I did a search for this topic on the forum, but it was last addressed in 2004, and my computer was brand new in 2005, so I would have thought that Lenovo would have fixed this by now. Any ideas/suggestions for a fix?
2. My computer came straight from Lenovo with all the fixin's - except the software needed to play DVD's! I thought watching a dvd would be "plug and play" but when I tried the computer told me I don't have the right software.
Thank you in advance for your help. Have a great day!
tina.

Agree with you theretinac wrote: I absolutely love my X41 computer
It may well be this is not your problem, but I ran into similar messages frequently when trying to view copy-protected DvDs. I found they arose when I connected the computer to the base after I had turned it on. (I suppose because something about the copy-protection wasn't properly initialized when the computer was turned out without the DvD drive connected.)My computer came straight from Lenovo with all the fixin's - except the software needed to play DVD's! I thought watching a dvd would be "plug and play" but when I tried the computer told me I don't have the right software.
Putting the computer in the base first and then turning it on seemed to fix this.
