I've read through a large swath of postings under the Linux posts and can see nothing that says anyone has managed to get the s-video TV Out on a t42p working under linux.
I have the latest ATI drivers - 8.21.7 and the wee ATI Control panel seems to make it all clear as day to switch output to the TV - but never seems to work. I've run fglrxconfig and all looks grand in there.
Should I be using aticonfig instread? i also downloaded atitvout and tried that - but doesn't seem to like the FireGL too much.
Any hints much appreciated - trying to get mplayer working on my TV so I can watch the next series of Lost!

Can I simply swap out my T5500 CPU in my 1953CTO T60 with a T5600? Or my T2400 core duo in my 2623D6U T60?
