WTB: T41p recovery set/ question about selling
I am in need of a T41p recovery set for my new laptop. I tried to call IBM/Lenovo but failed in getting them to send a set without charging 45 bucks. Since there are so many people here who might have them kicking around, I figured i'd ask.
Secondly, it's time to clean out some of the extra stuff I have. I have a bit of a problem though, I refuse to use paypal. See PayPalsucks.com for the reason, i'm in most of those people's same boat. Anyone have a better idea besides local pickup for stuff? By all means if you are local, we can work something out but otherwise i'm open to ideas.
Looking to close out:
IBM 380XD - 2635-AAU (P266/96MB/5GB/CDRom), battery is poor to useless, curiously someone stuck AMD and ATI stickers on the case, I can remove before sale.
IBM T20 - 2647-41U (P3 700/384MB/20GB/FD) battery is great to good - bought new when I bought the lappy. Network won't work/not hooked up and I can't get sound to work. PCMCIA functions but only one card at a time. (these items may or may not be simple fixes, don't have the resources to chase them down.)
Seagate 100GB 5400RPM hard drive for notebooks - I bought one brand new for my old HP, it failed on me, so I sent for an RMA. This drive is still sealed from the box Seagate sent me for the RMA.
2x256 DDR 333 SO-DIMM - These came from the old HP lappy, which was a DV1000 (for the curious), both were tested to work before.
As im new to this forum, if there is a viable alternative to PayPal, please let me know. I would like to clear some of this stuff (and probably other stuff) out as i'm moving soon.

i have a BUNCH of T41 recovery CD sets..
my assistant takes care of this archive..
but i charge for them..
but not as much as ibm unless i must make copies..
and the postage, too..
paypal has always worked fine for me..
play by the rules and all should be ok..
but i suppose since paypal is a target for fraud they must be super careful and sometimes someone gets his appendage caught in the gears..
so far i have been lucky..
other than paypal there is always a check,
direct deposit, bank wire and cash in an envelope..
i DO do escrows but for small stuff i think a person to person contact should do wonders for selling off stuff valued at or below $100..
FWIW, i think most all members here could be trusted to NOT bounce a check..
i hope you get your surplus stuff sold off..

The part number is from T42p-P1U and I'm pretty sure it will work fine for T41p since hardware on both T41/T42 is almost identical.alternative minimum wrote:Can you send me the part number for that? Will the t42p set work for t41's?
$20 plus shipping and you'll have the complete recovery set. I'll take PayPal. Let me know.
