Hi All. I have enabled the security chip on my 2668-f8g t43p and I'm running the latest Client Security suite 6.01.0037.00 and have enabled fpr over bios/harddisk/supervisor password and all that. No encryption yet.
When I'm in the office I use a port-replicator and the scenario is that I turn on the machine, - when it promps for fpr scan I open the lid, - slide my finger across and closes it again, - connected to an external monitor. Every 3 or 4'th morning it goes into windows and tells me the security chip is disabled and offers to enable it again.. then I usually enable it and it boots and works from that point on. At home, - outside the dock, - I've never seen this. Has anyone seen this behavior ?
I do have the Preferred Pro FPR usb keyboard attached in the port replicator... I'll try to change the keyboard just to check, - but it seems as if the open lid/slide finger/close lid somehow confuses my TP.
If I press escape and enter my passphrase on the external keyboard (at boottime, - and then swipe on the external keyboard when I reaches windows logon) I haven't seen this behavior (haven't done this a lot either)
Kim Igel.
Security chip disables itself every 3 or 4'th day at boot
