390 parts interchange questions

I have a 390 (266mz/12.1 screen/ 2626-50U) that works fine. It serves its purpose well as a mobile unit to check network connections etc in a manufacturing environment. But the poor plastics are so busted up...it is in serious need of some body & fender work .

I see dead 390s available so swapping out my 390's guts into a donor body is the way to go, but I have a few questions about the 390 series.

- - 1] Can I swap the guts from my 12.1" LCD 390 into a 390 with a 14" LCD and have the panel work?

- - 2] If the 14" panel won't work, will the 12" hinges mount into that body?

- - 3] Are the plastics on the 390E & 390X the same as the 390?

I recently purchased a secondhand 390E (366mhz celeron model - 2626BOU) with the 12.1" screen and was also wondering the same thing. Wether it would be possible to swap the guts out of this machine and stick them into a lower model 390E with that has a 14.1" screen.

Did you have any success, sharjeep?
