X22 mini-dock issue

#1 Post by vincentfox » Fri Feb 03, 2006 2:11 am

Who here has the X22 mini-dock?

I just got one off EBay. There's an On/Off switch that doesn't seem to work.

At least, it doesn't seem to power up the laptop. In fact it doesn't seem to have any travel to it, which makes me think it's broke or stuck in down position.

Anyhow, wondering if there's an off-chance of a dock-driver issue or something.

Hi,

I will try to offer what assistance I can. I have a mini dock, Type 2878, P/N 62P4551 and I get a definite click when I press the power button. If I recall correctly (I have only used the dock with an X31 thus far) I didn't need to install any drivers for the dock to work. Specifically, it would seem that something like the power button should be purely mechanical and/or electrical and wouldn't involve software (at least not for turning the computer on). If you're handy with your hands you might try to take the dock apart and see if the switch could be easily replaced. Good luck and let me know if I can be of any more assistance.
