software for temp monitoring

#1 Post by bfgun » Fri Feb 03, 2006 10:26 am

I'm sorta new to the site, but looking for the to the software where i can monitor my cpu temp. I Want to see if my cpu is running a bit warm and whether to remove the white goo that's between the heatsink and the cpu and put a nice thin layer of artic silver in there instead.

Thanks in advance! :)

See the sticky thread at the top about CPU temp monitoring, and try this site for software:

MobileMeter is very popular around here for monitoring temps.

I ran an app called "CPU Stability 6.0" was able to push the temp up to approx 66 C. - i'm not sure what's considered warm or hot with a t43 machine, but has anyone used artic silver instead of this grease and achieved lower cpu temps?

Thanks!

i'm running a 1.86

Both BOINC and Prime95 do a good job of putting a good load on System. :)

cool. what about temp ranges?

ran mine, hovered at around 60-66C under stress load
and 40-42 C idle.
